Hey, I’m Sara! It’s so nice to meet you. I’m grateful that you’re here!

Being a native Salvadoreña & then moving to California when I was a child, it was planted in my head that there were so many places far from home that were full of adventures to be had! At that age, I came to realize that the world was a very big place & that it was a privilege to have the opportunities and resources to be able to travel and learn about many countries and cultures.

But during my childhood, my family rarely traveled abroad because it was seen more like a luxury. It wasn’t until I was 21 that I took my first trip overseas & saw the topic of travel in a different light. I went to Rome, Italy, as part of a summer study abroad program via my university. I felt this sense of renewal. Since that trip, I knew that I wanted to venture out again but this time…on my own!

Then life got in between— I had student loans & an expectation to push hard in my 9-5 that I lost sight of that dream. Then I turned 28 & decided that was the right time. I prepared & left my job to reside in Madrid, Spain, for a year while completing an Auxiliares de Conversacion program at a bilingual primary school.

As a beginner photographer, I knew this was also going to be my opportunity to indulge in landscape & travel photography. This website is a result of this amazing experience and I hope to be able to convey my stories through these pages. My goal is to showcase my photographs & inspire even a tiny bit of travel in you.

World Sparkle Photos came to life in 2019 and has continued on thanks to those who believe in me.

What is World Sparkle Photos about?

After spending a year traveling through Western Europe, I came home with tons of photos ready to be curated! So, I started World Sparkle Photos as a shop on Etsy where I wanted to put some of my travel prints up for sale. I didn’t expect much of it but I was lucky to encounter several friends & strangers that supported my journey. So, two years later (which is now) I wanted to work on expanding it into a blog. My intention is to share my insights on travel & photography on the road!

But this is not going to be about me. My intention is for World Sparkle Photos to become an open community of present & future travelers — In here, the intention is not only to help you ‘travel through the lens’ via beautiful photos & stories, but also to help spark curiosity, interest & empowerment towards travel, especially for solo & women travelers.

So, stay tuned for blog pieces on travel & photography & monthly features on new & seasoned travelers!
